Cooperatives converted in the production of masks in Jorf Lasfar
Act4Community continues to assist cooperatives to tackle the economic crisis related to the COVID-19 pandemic. In this way, the Ayadi El Fath and Oqba cooperatives, operating in sewing at Jorf Lasfar, managed their redevelopment in the production of masks. Currently, they received orders from several towns that exceeds the 100.000 masks.
In collaboration with the Normalisation Moroccan Institute (IMANOR) and the École Nationale Supérieure des Industries du Textile et de l'Habillement (ESITH), the masks produced by these cooperatives obtained the NM/ST 21.5.201 (norme 2020) certification and are compliant with the technical requirements of sanitary authorities.
The cooperatives benefit from technical and managerial support, and the equipment of their manufacturing premises from Act4Community that also made thirty sewing machines available to them. “The support program aims to guaranty fixed income through a resilient economy” explains Amal Bellarbi, Act4Community volunteer.
Thanks to the new Act4Cooperatives initiative launched by OCP Group, approximately a hundred families from the Oulad Ghadban douar saw their living conditions get better thanks to the production of masks preventing coronavirus.
